Neighborhood Programs

Tradicion en Acción

“Tradición en Acción” aims to nurture intergenerational relationships across youth, business owners, and Allapattah’s elders through music, poetry, and art.

Seniors share wisdom, youth bring energy (and receive volunteer credit hours in return) and businesses support engagement, creating a cycle of mentorship, and mutual growth. Events are held at 11 different locations around Miami.

Monthly Expected Attendance: 800+ Senior citizens and 50+ youth volunteers

Main Street

Our work follows the Main Street Approach, guided by Transformation Strategies—clear, focused plans to revitalize and strengthen our commercial district’s economy. These strategies, shaped through community input and market analysis, target specific customer needs, fill market gaps, and create unique destinations. We bring them to life through the Four Points: Economic Vitality—building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem; Design—creating welcoming, walkable spaces and celebrating historic character; Promotion—showcasing our district’s assets, encouraging buy-local, and telling our story; and Organization—developing strong leadership, fostering community involvement, and forging cross-sector partnerships.

Additional Community Engagement & Initiatives

Through community engagement and local initiatives, we strengthen connections between residents, businesses, sponsors, city officials, and policymakers. We create platforms for open dialogue on neighborhood advocacy, public safety, infrastructure, and policy, while encouraging civic participation through candidate forums and government engagement. Our initiatives range from cultural celebrations like SEMARD 2025 and Miami Celebra la Semana del Autor de la R.D., to community support efforts including food distribution, emergency readiness programs, and youth–senior integration events. We host trainings, workshops, site tours, and quarterly meetings, while supporting events that promote mental health, celebrate local heritage, and bring neighbors together to shape Allapattah’s future.
